NGN Case Q: A 49 year old female client with a long history of hypertension crises. She is taking hydrochlorothiazide (25 mg/d) and atenolol (50 mg). Her electrocardiogram is revealed evidence of right ventricular hypertrophy. Her serum creatinine is 1.5 mg/dL. Past 2 weeks she has noted progressive dyspnea and mild pedal edema. Which nursing interventions are Indicated or Contraindicated? Choose Indicated ones?


1-Monitor neurological status

2-Avoid palpating the abdomen for aneurysm

3-Elevate legs for 10 to 20 minutes every day

4-Obtain and wear a MedicAlert bracelet.

5-Administer fluids intravenously

6-Maintain bed rest, with the head of the bed elevated at 45 degrees
